An Isle of Wight vet group has urged fishermen to clear away properly after a Miniature Schnauzer got a fish hook caught in her mouth.
Gigi had been playing on Brighstone beach - but ended up in hospital for an operation to remove a sharp hook, according to Pet Doctors.
The firm, which has a surgery in Newport, wrote: "Please be extra vigilant on our beaches, and tidy up any mess you leave! This fish hook on the beach caused poor Gigi a great amount of pain."
Vets are urging us to take home any rubbish from the Island's beaches, so it can be disposed of safely.
