TOMORROW looks set to hit 30 degrees on the Isle of Wight — with sunshine and possible thunder — before temperatures fall for the weekend.

The Island is currently enjoying a hot and sunny day, albeit with a coastal breeze in some areas.

According to the IW Met Service, tonight we can expect long clear spells throughout and remaining very warm, especially in the south and west of the Island.

Tomorrow will see a fine start and it will quickly become hot in the strong sunshine.

By late morning we will start to see an increase in cloud from the south and this will bring the risk of the odd scattered shower, and while most places will miss the showers, there is the potential of a few heavy downpours and the risk of thunder.

Weather expert Jamie Russell is forecasting temperatures of 27’c to 29’c — possibly reaching 30'c — but dropping quickly mid afternoon to around 19’c in the west and south and 21’c elsewhere.

Winds will be south easterly between 14mph and 24mph, becoming south westerly during the afternoon.

We could see a high of 24'c on Saturday and 21'c on Sunday, and falling further as we go into next week.
