AN ISLE of Wight musician has used lockdown as the inspiration for her debut single.

Lisa-Maria Saidinayer has channelled the challenges of recent times into a catalyst for new music, releasing a track entitled Remember This Time earlier this month.

In spring, fashion designer Marina Ignarski approached Lisa-Maria about producing a song for her virtual fashion show in aid of mental health charity Mind.

Remember This Time focuses on the struggles and fortitude of the human spirit during a period of uncertainty and widespread social disconnect.

The track was aired during the virtual fashion show yesterday evening (Thursday) at 7pm, and is also available to stream and purchase on all major music platforms.

Lisa-Maria said: "My first lyrics actually came to me last year from a place of gut-wrenching heartbreak. I had no experience of making music, so didn’t think of it as anything more than a cathartic exercise.

"A year later some melodies began playing in my head and I decided to do something about it. Having recorded Remember This Time, I subsequently began working on new material and playing around with ideas, without settling on a specific genre.

"I feel these experiences are universal and will be comforting to listeners. When I was going through break-ups, Ariana Grande’s 'Thank U, Next' was relatable. In the same way, I hope my songs will speak to people facing similar trials."
