A set of vintage metal steps, fondly remembered by Islanders who played at a popular local theme park, have been found on an Isle of Wight beach decades after they plunged into the sea.
Isle of Wight visitor Bella Greenland found the beautiful old steps - with the brand Wicksteed Kettering on them - in Ventnor, on Saturday.
She was staying at the self catering apartments, Salty Holidays, with brother Samuel, who managed to pull the steps out from between the rocks and carried them back to the accommodation.
Do you remember the old steps and giant slide?
A spokesperson for play equipment maker Wicksteed believes they were made between 1940 and 1967 and were probably the steps on a giant slide in Blackgang Chine, about six miles along the coast.
It is thought that they fell into the English Channel in a landslip in 1994.
Salty Holidays says the steps will stay in the garden for guests to enjoy when they are staying in the holiday apartments.
Meanwhile, its Facebook post about the find has racked up more than 1500 shares and has reached 150,000 people!
