COASTGUARD Rescue Teams were called to Shanklin last night (Saturday) to investigate a report of a person in the water.
At 7.11pm, Coastguard Rescue Teams from Ventnor and Bembridge received the call, and were joined by Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat.
A statement from Ventnor Coastguard Rescue on Twitter said: "Tasked with Bembridge CRT and Sandown Lifeboat to a person in water in difficulty off Shanklin.
"The Bembridge patrol was just in the area so were flagged down. Casualty assisted by kayaks. Checked over and all stood down."
