COASTGUARD Rescue Teams were called to Culver early this morning (Saturday) to investigate a report of a person stuck on Culver cliff.
At 4.43am, coastguard teams from Ventnor and Bembridge received the call, and carried out a thorough search of the area.
Following the investigation, it was found that a light attached to the mast of a nearby vessel was causing the issue, and there was no one in danger.
A spokesperson for the Coastguard said: "We received a report of a possible person in danger at 4.43am, which ultimately proved to be no more than a light attached to the mast of a vessel.
"Ventnor and Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Teams arrived at Culver Cliff and found that no person were in danger. The investigation was stopped at 6.05am."
