THE Isle of Wight's maternity ward will open to visits from a new mum's birth partner, from today (Sunday).

Only one named birth partner can visit the ward and you cannot swap with anyone else, says the Isle of Wight NHS Trust.

Visiting hours run from 2pm until 8pm every day and are for anyone seeing women admitted to the ward for induction; or staying in after a baby is born.

However, visits for scans and DAU must only be attended by a mum-to-be, due to policies on the coronavirus.
