A NEW case of coronavirus has been recorded on the Isle of Wight, but it has been ten days since the last confirmed diagnosis.

The total number of Island cases since the Covid-19 pandemic began is 203.

In all, 82 people have died on the Isle of Wight.

They include 39 who died at St Mary's Hospital, 39 in Isle of Wight care homes, three in their own homes and one at a hospice here.

The latest figure from the Isle of Wight NHS Trust shows that 47 people who were brought into hospital for treatment have now recovered.

Nationally, the number of people with lab-confirmed positive tests for coronavirus has reached 306,682.

As lockdown restrictions ease however, the government is still urging people to stick to the social distancing guidelines and to maintain 'one metre plus' (with two metres, where possible).
