CHANGES have been made to St Mary's Hospital to ensure social distancing and the wearing of face coverings.

A special Social Distancing Support Team, who will be wearing orange tabards, will be on hand to help people as they arrive.

Patients and visitors will also need to bring face coverings with them, which will need to be worn before they can enter the hospital.

A spokesperson said: "We have made several changes to our hospital site since the change in Government guidance around face masks and face coverings came into force on Monday, June 15.

"If you need to visit our hospital for an appointment, blood test or procedure you will notice things are a little different to how they are usually.

"We now have a number of one way systems around our corridors and you will need to keep left to help maintain social distancing.

"We have installed a number of new signs, including floor stickers for the main corridor and some extra special ones for our Children’s Ward to help remind everyone to socially distance."
