AN Isle of Wight man has admitted causing grievous bodily harm — fracturing another man's skull during lockdown.
Rhys Patrick Davies, 31, of no fixed address, assaulted the man in Crescent Road, Sandown, just after 11pm on April 2.
The 35-year-old victim suffered a fractured skull.
Extra police patrols were placed in the town at around the same time, due to concerns around anti-social behaviour.
On a video call at the Isle of Wight Crown Court yesterday (Thursday), Davies admitted causing GBH and the case was adjourned for pre-sentence probation reports.
He remains in custody.
He will be sentenced on August 7.
