A TEN year old is jumping for joy after bouncing his way to raising more than £500 for Mountbatten.

Marley Grist, a St Helens Primary School pupil, wrote a letter to the County Press to tell us about his fundraising achievement.

He wrote: "I am writing to you to tell you that I am currently raising money for the Mountbatten hospice.

"So far, I have raised £524 by bouncing on my trampoline for an hour a day. I have pledged to do this every day for a month.

"I am doing this challenge because during these hard times, lots of charities are being forgotten.

"I have chosen Mountbatten because they provide amazing care for people at the end of their life.

"Most people think of hospices as sad and lonely places but actually, the staff at Mountbatten make sure that there is a cheery and welcoming atmosphere.

"This year they cannot run major events because of the Covid-19 outbreak."

Marley hopes his letter will help him raise more money. His fundraising page is justgiving.com/fundraising/sarah-keenan4
