AN ARTIST has created an Isle of Wight themed lampshade.

Rosalind Freeborn, who founded the company Paper Shades in 2016, has used her skills to bring some light relief to people during lockdown.

She said: "My paper lampshade features impressions of the Island. In my studio I use fragments of tissue, wrapping paper, torn pages of magazines and bits of packaging to make my designs.

"I then print on to panels of special paper which can be assembled at home using my unique perspex wheels, and the lampshades are flat-packed for purchase from my website.

Rosalind's designs include impressions of the Needles, St Catherine's Lighthouse, Osborne House and a paper portrait of Queen Victoria and her bathing machine, along with general seaside views, cliffs and elegant houses.

Rosalind, of Londond, said: "I spent several childhood holidays on the Isle of Wight. My father, a professor of Russian literature, was always keen to take the family to Ventnor so he could research the lives of eminent writers."
