Sailor put in a mayday call off the Isle of Wight.
A SAILOR declared a mayday after large waves swamped a boat off the Isle of Wight.
Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team joined Southampton patrol boat Pathfinder at around 5.50pm this afternoon (Friday).
The patrol boat was towing the vessel into Cowes, after the call was made off Gurnard.
The single sailor from the mainland was checked over and found to be ok.
