A TRIO of family members are taking a page from Colonel Tom's book and supporting Wessex Cancer Trust's Move it May appeal.
Chris Amy, daughter Nicola Attrill and daughter-in-law Caroline Amy are all aiming to match the former British Army officer's efforts by running at least two miles everyday in the month of May.
They have already clocked up 166 miles and raised more than £900 for the charity, which among its services is the Daisy Bus, transporting cancer patients to Southampton General or Queen Alexandra in Portsmouth from passenger ferries — a vital link for the Island.
After closing its support centres amidst the coronavirus pandemic, the charity is now live streaming therapy sessions, carrying out weekly calls for vulnerable clients, offering counselling over the phone and providing help on its Facebook support group.

£10 provides a welcome session with a trained befriender, £40 will enable the charity to provide a free counselling session, and £100 could pay for a month’s supply of the products needed to provide complementary therapies helping people manage pain and anxiety.
