Fire crews were called to a garage fire in Newport this evening
FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a garage fire in Newport this evening (Saturday).
Crews from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to the address on Elm Grove shortly after 6pm.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "We were called to Elm Grove in Newport at 6.06pm.
"We sent two pumps from Newport and extinguished the fire using a hose reel two breathing apparatus.
"The crews left at 6.37pm, having extinguished a domestic garage fire."
