UNLAWFUL mass gatherings are being organised for this weekend — including on the Isle of Wight.

The police have been alerted by several members of the public about gatherings being organised, despite lockdown, at Appley Beach and Seaclose Park.

They have been advertised on posters on social media.

A spokesperson for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said: "We are aware of reports advertising a number of mass gatherings being organised at various locations nationally and in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight this coming weekend.

“We are really grateful to those who have contacted us with their concerns and are now reviewing this information and the reports we have received from the public.

“We will continue to assess the information we have in the coming days to ensure that we are able to respond to any unlawful activity and enforce the law fairly and appropriately.”

The organisers state on the posters they are against the 'new normal' and 'mandatory vaccines' for coronavirus.
