THE NUMBER of confirmed cases of cornavirus in the Isle of Wight continues to rise according to new statistics released by the NHS this afternoon (Tuesday.)

New figures released by Public Health England show that the number of confirmed cases on the Island has increased by two, bringing the total to 156.

This comes after figures released today from the Office for National Statistics show 14 people have now died in care homes, in hospice or at home.

Nationally the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus stands at 226,463, with 32,692 having died.
