PUPILS and teachers from Lanesend Primary School in Cowes have been using their time in lockdown productively.

An art project has seen them attempting to recreate famous works of art, resulting in a fantastic selection of creative contributions.

Katie Lewis, art lead at the school, said: “The Getty Museum in California issued a challenge to recreate favourite or famous works of art using household objects, people and pets.

"We loved the idea of doing this, so thought we'd do it too.

"It has been a really good way to engage our children with some creative, practical home learning, and of course some valuable art appreciation.

"We have been amazed at the response we have had from the children — they have had a lot of fun with their families — looking carefully and being really imaginative.”
