POLICE are investigating after an unidentified man's body was discovered on an East Cowes beach early this morning (Saturday).

The Isle of Wight Police are appealing to anyone who may be able to identify the man who was discovered at Old Castle Point around 6am this morning.

The man is described as 30 to 40 years old, Asian, wearing brown corduroy trousers with a blue shirt, with dark collar length hair.

A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Police said: "We were called 6.14am after the man’s body was found on the beach.

"Officers attended to examine the scene and to allow for the body to be recovered.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and enquiries are underway to identify the man."
