A NEW takeaway service offering restaurant quality food at home has been launched in Yarmouth.

The Yarmouth Food Lovers' Market is a family-run co-operative headed by Melanie and Ed Panek, the owners of Salty’s.

The business will home deliver a three-course meal which can be cooked in 20 minutes and includes an add-your-own mocktail.

Melanie said: “This is a completely separate business to Salty’s, which will continue to run as a restaurant once we have been given permission to reopen.

“We are reinventing ourselves as Yarmouth Food Lovers' Market and we will bring a restaurant quality meal to your home.

“There are 11 people on board including our children, Edward and Sarah, and everyone will share in the profits.

“We will grow vegetables, fruit and herbs in our garden and involve Island businesses including various shops in Yarmouth and Freshwater.

“There is also a charity aspect to the business with £1 added to every bill per box delivered which will go to Covid-19 charities around Yarmouth, while there is a 25 per cent discount to NHS carers.

“We will also pick up any donations left on the doorstep which will be delivered to a foodbank and all excess fresh food will be dropped off at St Mary’s Hospital or Mountbatten Hospice.”

The service starts today (Friday) and full details are on the website at yarmouthfoodlovers.co.uk.
