TODAY, the Isle of Wight County Press signalled its 100 per cent support for the track-and-trace app for the Island.

We believe this is a vital tool in the fight to stop the spread of coronavirus and are urging all Islanders with a smartphone to download the app as it becomes available to the public in the next few days.

This morning, I made this call in an opinion article and we followed it up with a poll  asking people to tell us if they had downloaded the app.

It takes half a minute to do and is very simple.

Now we are asking you to add your name to a roll of honour of Islanders who have agreed to have the app.

It is a matter of choice, of course, but if you would like to add your name to our roll of honour, we will be happy to publish it online and in the County Press on May 15.

If you would like to be included on the roll of honour, either comment here, send your name and hopefully a picture of you with the app on your phone (socially distanced of course) to editor@iwcp.co.uk with Get The App in the subject line.

Or you can tell us if you have signed up on our Facebook poll.
