EMERGENCY services have been called to a two-vehicle collision in Godshill this evening (Sunday).

A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Fire Service said: "We received a call at 8.01pm regarding a collision between a van and car in the High Street in Godshill.

"Teams from Shanklin and Ventnor, along with a rescue appliance from Newport were dispatched to the scene."

A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Ambulance service said: "Multiple vehicles have been sent to assist at the location."

Isle of Wight Police have also attended the scene.

UPDATE 9.53pm: Four persons were removed from the vehicles and dealt with by Ambulance crews.

One vehicle, the car, was on fire, two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire.
