ISLE of Wight vocalist, Anycia Macedo, will be taking her voice online tonight (Friday, April 17) — in a lockdown live concert, raising money for Mountbatten Hospice.

Anycia, 37, has been keen to use her music to do something charitable, and her last digital gig raised £70 for the pop-up soup kitchen, which will go toward its delivery costs.

Born in Wiltshire, she moved to the Isle of Wight when she was 19 to become an entertainer, and has worked with various shows and bands over the years.

"Last year, I ventured back out on the solo scene, mostly doing hotel and holiday circuits," said Anycia.

"I have had people ask me to do another online gig, and I saw the article in the County Press regarding the hospice and how a lot of its income was now not coming in due to its shops closing.

"The hospice is so important to so many people — I just wanted to do something to help raise awareness and funds.

"I will be performing a selection of music — my repertoire covers a variety of genres and decades, so hopefully there will be something for everyone.

"Requests are welcome, and I’ll be going live from my singing page, Anycia Macedo Vocalist, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm."
