Sent in the name of geniune gas supplier British Gas, the email claims a bill still needs to be paid.

The tranding standards team says it looks 'very authentic', with the British Gas logo and reference numbers.

IWASP says: "If you receive one of these emails, do not click on the link to pay. This is a scam. Never click on links in emails or texts. Legitimate organisations will never ask you for your banking details in this way. If you receive this email, delete it immediately.

"If you are a British Gas customer and are unsure if it is genuine, contact British Gas using contact details you have found yourself."
