THE Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary says it is 'marching on' despite the cancellation of a host of Palm Sunday processions yesterday, because of coronavirus.

The charity said its donkeys were due to play a leading role in church events from Shorwell to Freshwater, Whippingham to Cowes, and at its own Palm Sunday procession and service at in Wroxall.

The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary said: "The donkey buses are parked up, Jimbob and his team of Palm Sunday donkeys are disappointed, the car park is empty and the whole Sanctuary is silent. But we are here in spirit, we are marching on together with our supporters in isolation."
