A 43-year-old man from Ryde was arrested yesterday (Sunday), by National Crime Agency (NCA) officers investigating a seizure of almost 100 kilos of cocaine at the port of Newhaven, East Sussex in November.

The NCA says he has been bailed and enquiries continue.

Hampshire Police was also involved in the operation in Ashey Road, Ryde.

On November 23, nearly 100 packages containing around one kilo of cocaine were seized from a van carrying frozen fish. 

The drugs had an estimated potential value of around £10 million.

A man from Maidenhead, Berkshire has been charged in connection with the seizure and is awaiting trial.
