AGE UK Isle of Wight needs volunteers to help it support elderly Islanders with their shopping, collecting prescriptions and chatting on the phone.
The charity says it has had a fantastic response to previous calls for help, but some offers have been withdrawn because of the need for self-isolation and the closure of businesses.
The charity said: “This is a marathon not a sprint and your help will be even more crucial in a few weeks’ time.
“When you register, you will be asked to complete a simple application form which we will use to safeguard and protect everyone during this difficult time. Once a volunteer, you will be provided with a Letter of Authorisation to evidence that you are working with us.
