Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales has tested positive for coronavirus and is displaying mild symptoms “but otherwise remains in good health”, Clarence House has said.

The Prince and the Duchess visited the Isle of Wight in 2009, stopping in Ryde and Newport.

In a statement about the 71-year-old's health, Clarence House said: "The Prince of Wales has tested positive for coronavirus.

Isle of Wight County Press:

"He had been displaying mild symptons but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual."

What about Camilla - the Duchess of Cornwall?

The Duchess of Cornwall has also been tested but does not have the virus.

Where are they both now?

It adds: "In accordance with Government and medical advice, the Prince and Ducheess are now self-isolating at home in Scotland.

"The tests were carried out by the NHS in Aberdeenshire where they met the criteria required for testing.

Isle of Wight County Press:

"It is not possible to ascertain from whom the Prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagemebnts he carried out in his public role during recent weeks."
