AN ISLE of Wight man, appearing at Portsmouth Crown Court yesterday (Monday), has pleaded guilty to three robberies in Sandown.

35-year-old Craig Nathan Knowles, of no fixed abode, was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on May 1.

Knowles had threatened staff, and in total, over the three dates, stolen cigarettes and cash to the value of approximately £700.

Knowles was arrested on December 17 after police launched an investigation into the three robberies which took place at shops along Avenue Road in Sandown.

The incidents took place on November 19, November 27 and December 13.
