ISLE of Wight Under Sheriff John Matthews will step down on April 6, after 15 years in the role.
A farewell lunch was held in his honour, at the Royal Solent Yacht Club in Yarmouth.
Gifts included a poem composed and read by broadcaster Alan Titchmarsh.
