STORM Jorge is coming and cross-Solent travel operators are already experiencing problems and anticipating disruption.

Hovertravel has suspended services today and Red Funnel has tweeted it expects disruption to its Red Jet services from 3pm until into the evening tonight and all day tomorrow.

Storm Jorge follows Storm Ciara and Storm Dennis as the third disruptive weather event of the month.

Winds of up to 75mph are expected to buffet coastal areas over the weekend and a Yellow Warning for high winds has been issued by the Met Office.

A Yellow Warning could mean:

* Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely.

* Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely.

* It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities affected by spray and/or large waves.
