CROSS-SOLENT services have been hit by delays and cancellations this morning (Monday) as the windy weather continues.

Hovertravel services are currently suspended. An update on sailings during the rest of the day is due to be provided at 12.30pm.

Red Funnel's Red Jet service is likely to encounter delays and/or cancellations between 11am and 6pm, with the 10.30pm vehicle ferry from Southampton and 11.55pm from Cowes cancelled.

Wightlink services face severe disruption, with the 1pm, 3pm and 5pm sailings from Lymington, and the 2.05pm, 4.05pm and 6.05pm sailings from Yarmouth cancelled.

UPDATE 12.01pm: Needles NCI has reported hurricane force winds on the Isle of Wight this morning, with a 75mph Beaufort 12 reading at 10am, and 69mph Beaufort 11 reading at 11am.

UPDATE 12.40pm: Hovertravel services are cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions. They will share another update at 2.30pm.
