A FIRE crew was called to St Mary's Hospital this morning (Saturday) in response to a fire alarm.
A crew from Newport was called to the hospital at 8.54am, but quickly discovered it was a false alarm.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said: "When the Newport crew arrived they quickly discovered that it was a false alarm.
"The alarm was caused by a workman. The stop message was sent at 8.09am."
