STAY away from coastal paths and seafronts during Storm Dennis.

That is the warning today from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency as the second storm in successive weekend approaches the Isle of Wight.

On Twitter, the agency says: "Storm Dennis is bringing strong winds and heavy rain.

Avoid coastal paths, promenades, piers, cliff edges, harbour walls or going in the water.

"Waves are unpredictable — it only takes 15cm of water to knock you off your feet.

"No picture is worth a life."

The Met Office has extended the weather alerts over Saturday and Sunday for wind and rain, and nearby mainland areas have been upgraded to amber alerts.
