A MAN has been arrested after an elderly woman died in a crash in New Milton yesterday afternoon.
As reported, police, paramedics and firefighters rushed to Station Road after a collision between an 89-year-old woman and a Travis Perkins HGV just after 1.10pm.
Despite their efforts, the woman, who had been on foot, could not be saved.
Police today said an arrest has been made.
A spokesperson from Hampshire police said: "A 57-year-old man from New Milton has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
"He has been released under investigation and enquiries continue."
