THESE pictures, taken today (Monday), show the extent of the Belgrave Road collapse.

As reported, one property has been evacuated and road closures have been put in place at Belgrave Road and Esplanade Road below.

The wall running alongside Belgrave Road partially collapsed on Thursday, causing the carriageway to crack and earth to spill out from behind the wall.

Since then, the situation has worsened considerably.

The Isle of Wight Council said there was a significant risk the wall would fail, and the road will remain closed for the foreseeable future.
