A WOMAN was freed from her car following a one-vehicle incident in Ventnor this Morning (Sunday).

Emergency services were called to attend the scene at Whitwell Road just past Ventnor Rugby Club.

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 7.31am, with crews from Ventnor, Shanklin and Newport attending the location.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: "A female driver was removed from the car and handed over to paramedics, with the scene stabilised shortly afterwards. Our teams were stood down at 7.57am."

Isle of Wight Police and ambulance services also attended the scene.

The driver was subsequently left in the care of the ambulance service.
