A PENSIONER has appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court today (Friday), charged with raping a girl under the age of 13.
John Rust, 79, of George Street, Ryde, was charged with one count of raping a girl under 13, between September 2015 and September 2016, and a further count of sexually assaulting a girl under 13, between January 2015 and June 2017.
He did not enter a plea.
The case was adjourned to the Isle of Wight Crown Court on February 24.
Mr Rust was released on bail until the hearing.
