POLICE have today (Tuesday) launched an appeal after three people burgled a hotel wine store and stole £1,000 worth of alcohol.

An E-fit has been released of a man police would like to speak to in connection with the burglary, which happened at the Wight Montrene Hotel, Avenue Road, Sandown, between 3am and 3.50am on October 27.

An Isle of Wight police spokesperson said: "Do you recognise the man in this E-fit? We would like to identify this man as part of our investigation.

"Approximately £1,000 worth of alcohol was stolen before the men left the area along Avenue Road in the direction of The Broadway.

"Officers have conducted a number of enquiries since the incident was reported to us, and we are now in a position to release this E-fit as part of our investigation.

"If you recognise the person shown, or have any information about the incident, please contact us on 101 quoting 44190385437."
