WIGHTLINK'S Lymington to Yarmouth service has been suspended due to adverse weather.

Customers have been advised to travel on the Portsmouth to Fishbourne or Portsmouth to Ryde routes until further notice.

A spokesperson for Wightlink said the disruption was due to unsafe travel conditions.


UPDATE 12.44pm: Hovertravel services have now been suspended. An update will be provided at 3pm.

UPDATE 3.30pm: Red Funnel have confirmed that both their Red Jet and car ferry serviced will be suspended until 7.30pm.

Red Funnel tweeted: "Red Jet and Vehicle Ferry suspended until approx 19:30 due to adverse weather. A further update will be provided at 19:00. We apologise for the inconvenience caused to your journey"

UPDATE 5pm: Red Funnel services are still suspended due to adverse weather. The next vehicle ferry to depart Southampton and East Cowes is expected at approx 7.30pm. The next expected Red Jet is at 8.45pm from Southampton and 9.15pm from Cowes. A further update will be provided at 7pm.

UPDATE 6pm: Hovertravel services are cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. They have scheduled a further update for 8pm.

UPDATE 8pm: Hovertravel services are remain suspended due to adverse weather conditions. The next update will be available at 5.45am tomorrow (Wednesday).

Red Funnel's Red Jet service is also still suspended due to the conditions. The next anticipated departure from Southampton will be 8.45pm and from Cowes at 9.15pm. They will be a further update shortly.

UPDATE 8.55pm: Red Jet remains suspended until further notice due to adverse weather.

UPDATE 9.30pm: Red Funnel have announced that their Red Jet service has returned to timetable.
