A DANGEROUS driver has been jailed for 15 months after crashing into parked cars — leaving debris scattered across the road.

Jamie Mobley, 39, of no fixed abode, admitted criminal damage, aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving and driving without insurance, when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court in November 25.

He was remanded in custody following the crash shortly before midnight on November 22, and spent Christmas behind bars.

The court heard Mobley had a long criminal record.

Mobley was driving a Volkswagen Golf when he collided with two parked cars at Newport Road, Ventnor.

Mobley appeared at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Friday, and was sentenced to 15 months in prison.

He was also banned from driving for two years and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £149.
