STORM Brendan is due to hit the UK today (Monday), with strong winds forecast for the Isle of Wight.

The Met Office has issued two yellow weather warnings for the Isle of Wight — one for today, between 10am and 11.59pm, and one for tomorrow (Tuesday), between noon and 11.59pm.

It said travel disruption was likely, and warned people to expect large waves and sea spray in coastal areas, as well as power cuts.

UPDATE 10.47am: A further yellow weather warning for heavy rain, from 1pm tomorrow to 9am on Wednesday, has now been issued. 

The Met Office has warned flooding of homes and businesses is possible.
