A NEW theatre academy has begun on the Isle of Wight for young people aspiring to perform on stage.

Curtain Call Creative has been set up by Andrew Woodford, a musical director well-known in Island theatre circles.

The academy sessions will be run by working professionals with current credits in theatre, and guest workshops will be given by leading professionals from tours, television and the West End.

The first session opened today, and will be on every Sunday at Ryde School, for youngsters aged from six to 18.

Participants will work on exclusive musicals and performances specially granted to be performed on the Island.
