ISLE of Wight business Dumpling Dumpling, famed for their mac 'n' cheese and vegan hoisin 'not duck' fillings, have struck gold at the Hampshire Street Food Awards.

The vendor won the top prize — the overall award for best street food in the region — and the award for best international cuisine.

The 2019 awards were presented at a ceremony at Portsmouth Guildhall.

Dumpling Dumpling co-founder Natalie Stirrup said: “We are over the moon with the awards. To come away with two awards, including best street food in Hampshire, has blown us away.

"It was such a fantastic way to celebrate and reward the hard work that our team puts in, and we are so thankful for the opportunity and recognition.”

Other prizes were presented for best street food burger, best vegetarian or vegan vendor, best newcomer and best festival for street food.

Awards organiser Jeremy Gaskin, who runs a crepe and coffee kitchen in a converted Citroen HY van, said: "The street food scene is huge, with amazing vendors working hard to produce outstanding food."
