A CAR has crashed in Freshwater this evening (Friday) — ending up on its side.
A single vehicle road traffic accident occurred on Middle Road around the Wilmington Lane area.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service said they were called to the crash shortly after 8pm, and one patient had been taken to hospital.
Police and a fire crew from Freshwater also attended the scene.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Fire Service said that they received a call at 8.18pm, with crew still on the scene shortly after 9pm to mop up fuel on the road.
The road will be closed until the surface is cleared.
