THE Little Princess Trust received another hair donation from an Isle of Wight resident.

Tarina Woodford, who lives in Newport and works at Gurnard Pre-School, was first told the charity would be unable to use any of her coloured hair for their wigs, which they make for children suffering hair loss during cancer treatment.

Keen to contribute, Tarina — in conjunction with Teaze hairdressers in Carisbrooke — improvised to ensure her good deed could go ahead.

Deciding that the uncompromised hair closer to the scalp would provide a substantial amount for the charity, the hairdresser gave her an undercut.

Tarina said: "I was inspired by other people in the County Press who had donated hair, and hope this may galvanise others to donate theirs without worrying about having to shave it all off, or being concerned about having had colour put in it.

"Donating hair can have a huge impact on the life of a child who has hair loss, and this way you can help put a smile back on their face and provide a positive impact on their life."
