EMERGENCY services from across the Island joined forces with Freshwater Fire Station as part of a Christmas Community Hug.

Firefighters, past and present, were joined by colleagues from The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, HM Coastguard, NCI and Freshwater Independent Lifeboat.

Local children placed decorations on the station's trees and were entertained by Huxley the Magician.

The large crowd raised the roof as they joined in with the Christmas songs led by the Brass Monkeys and Friends.

Refreshments were provided by Sainsbury's, The Co-operative, Afton Road; Fuoco Pizza UK and Freshwater Memorial Hall.

Hill Farm Stables and Mountbatten, Freshwater; donated Christmas trees, with Honnor and Jeffrey giving the tree lights.
