A FLOOD warning has been issued for the Eastern Yar area.

The Environment Agency warned "flooding is possible — be prepared" as water levels remain high following heavy rainfall throughout yesterday (Friday).

In Alverstone, water levels are now falling and are below levels which require action, however, it will take some time before they return to the seasonal norm.

At Sandown, the river has now stabilised but remains high.

Road flooding is unlikely but the EA states Fort Holiday Park will likely be affected by water in the surrounding ditches.

The weather forecast through to Monday indicates bands of heavy showers.

On Tuesday there is the potential for more significant rainfall.

The EA has checked Bembridge sluice is operating.
