WIGHTLINK customers travelling between Yarmouth and Lymington have been warned to expect hour-long delays this evening (Tuesday).

The ferry company tweeted: "Due to adverse weather conditions across the Solent, customers may experience delays of up to 60 minutes on our Lymington to Yarmouth route.

"We apologise for the changes to your travel plans."

As reported, 12 sailings have been cancelled on the route today due to the weather conditions.

Wightlink has also cancelled several sailings on its Fishbourne to Portsmouth car ferry service today, blaming a technical issue.

The 3pm, 5pm and 7pm sailings from Portsmouth, and the 2pm, 4pm and 6pm sailings from Fishbourne have all been cancelled.

UPDATE 6pm: The Yarmouth to Lymington car ferry service has now been suspended.

Wightlink said: "Due to very strong winds across the Solent, our Lymington to Yarmouth service is suspended until further notice. We will resume service as soon as we can. We apologise for the changes to your travel plans."

UPDATE 7.47pm: The Yarmouth to Lymington car ferry service has now resumed — however, passengers have been warned to expect delays of 90 minutes.
