WIGHTLINK has cancelled several sailings on its FastCat service tomorrow (Friday) — once again, due to staff sickness.

The ferry company said it had cancelled six sailings due to the sickness of an essential crew member.

The 6.40am, 7.40am and 8.40am sailings from Portsmouth Harbour, and the 7.10am, 8.10am and 9.10am sailings from Ryde, have all been cancelled — which will affect commuters tomorrow morning.

Wightlink said: "We apologise for any changes to your travel plans."

UPDATE Friday: The 6.45pm sailing from Portsmouth and the 7.15pm sailing from Ryde this evening (Friday) have also been cancelled.

UPDATE Friday 5pm: Wightlink has said another four sailings have been cancelled as a result of a technical issue.

"Due to a technical issue, the 4.40pm and the 5.40pm from Portsmouth Harbour and the 5.10pm and 6.10pm from Ryde sailings have been cancelled. "
